While Sauvignon Blanc isn’t one of the varieties that Washington wine lovers would be likely to count out as the states’ mainstays on five fingers, the hot, dry conditions east of the Cascades yields results similar to those of Napa or warmer Chile’s Valle Central. An exciting counterpoint to the intensely grapefruit-centric renditions of New Zealand and the grape’s home in the Loire Valley, this suavely tropical and mouthwateringly aromatic offering is simultaneously sultry and summery.
