Paul Anheuser, Scheurebe "Kreunznacher Monchberg" QbA, Nahe, Germany, 2018
LIGHTLY SWEET, HERBACEOUS, CITRUSY & FRUITY, FULL-BODIED
The Anheuser family has been making wine since 1627, and the family can boast 14 generations of running this estate located in Bad Kreunznacher. Bad is a designation for a spa town and Kreunznacher is renowned for its waters and healthy climate. Scheurebe is a crossing of Silvaner and Riesling that was created in 1915. The wine is full-bodied, with a lingering finish, and a great introduction to something exotic.
Serving Suggestions: A favorite w/ honey-roasted ham & pineapple, or turkey & all the fixings w/ fresh herbs baked under the skin. Spicy coconut curry seafood w/ saffron-scented rice.
