Saint-Joseph’s Domaine Barou finds its ten hectares at the northernmost extreme of the vertically sprawling appellation – at the southern crossroads with Condrieu, the majestic birthplace of Viognier. It’s no surprise that the estate owns land in Condrieu, also working with the variety in the non-AOP countryside…to excellent effect. Swelling with rich, ripe, exotic fruit and floral intensity, this Condrieu understudy is a real treat.
