Right on the border of Eguisheim rises the Eichberg – a large hill of old sea-bed, raised up over the epochs to become one of Alsace’s Grand Cru regions. Known for its warmer, drier microclimate, wines from this area are known for their power and richness, and Arnaud Baur’s is no exception. Dry, full of rich complexity, creamy citrus and peach, accented by a hint of spicy vanilla and a whisper of chalky mineral, this is a wine you could take home to mother right now.
