Potter Valley sits 200 feet higher in elevation than its westerly neighboring subregion Redwood Valley in Mendocino County. With similarly hot days combined with significantly cooler nights, this small lesser-known AVA has an advantage in producing bright, balanced wines. Stretching just 6 miles with a little over 1,000 acres of vines planted, there are very few wineries here and even less making estate wines, the McFadden family at Blue Quail are an exception to the norm and deliver quite a value.
Serving Suggestion: Bok choy stir fry w/ garlic and ginger. Lemony pesto pasta w/ crème fraîche, king prawns, and green beans.
