Giovanni Bosca, "Cardamaro" Vino Amaro, Piemonte, Italy NV
17% ABV
AROMATIC, NUTTY, CHINESE FIVE-SPICE, SWEET & BITTER
This is the only vino amaro, or wine-based amaro, on the market in the US. It’s made from Moscato infused with a local variety of cardoon and other botanicals, then rested on new oak for at least six months. The recipe originated with the founder of this now-7th-generation winemaking family. Cardoon, related to the artichoke, has long been valued for its medicinal properties and is still used in Piemontese cuisine.
Serving Suggestions: On its own over ice, or w/ grapefruit juice & soda. Works fantastically w/ rye & bourbon or even in their place. Combine w/ Dolin Rouge for a chilled-out Manhattan.
