The little-known Carica l’Asino grape translates to “load the donkey.” Originally found in Liguria to the south of their native Piemonte, Bruna Ferro and her family couldn’t resist the temptation to cultivate this grape, named after their most beloved farm animal. Its intriguingly cloudy nature shines through, revealing crabapple-like wildness with subtle tropical notes as well. So load up the donkey and let’s take a trip to Funkytown!
