In Franco Penna’s cellar, five meters beneath the calcite soils of his tiny vineyard, visitors can see the roots of his vines working their way down to a natural spring. It’s visible proof of exceptional terroir, and it’s certainly reflected in the wine. This is a gleaming jewel of a Dolcetto, all bright tangy fruit and clean, bracing acidity. A perfect example of the simple, exquisitely Italian pleasures of good Dolcetto.
