This lightly oaked Sauvignon Blanc is impressively distinct, emphasizing tropicality over the herbacious, grapefruit-centric approach that tends to dominate much of the region’s examples. It owes its intensely tropical personality to gloriously ripe grapes, carrying itself more exotically than we might expect. A small 2.5 acre plot is the origin of this very limited outing from our friends at Chateau des Cèdres. Get it while it’s hot (but drink cold)!
Serving Suggestion: Langoustine w/ tarragon & garlic or gumbo w/ crayfish & chorizo. Arugula w/ carrot shavings & shaved sheep’s milk cheese w/ citrus-balsamic vinaigrette.
