Domaine Chiroulet, Floc de Gascogne, Southwest, France NV Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc
FLOWERY, FRESH & FRUITY, SWEET, BRANDY AROMATICS The AOC Floc de Gascogne is relatively new, established in just 1990. The wine is used as an aperitif and made by blending 2/3 fresh grape juice with 1/3 brandy. In this case it is blended with Armagnac and both must come from the same vineyard. No fermentation occurs. After fortifying the grape juice to between 16% and 18% alcohol, it must be cellared for 10 months and then approved by committee from the appellation before being sold. Serving Suggestion: Best used as an aperitif wine before dinner, or with a Foie Gras course and some people enjoy this after dinner.
