Manuel retired from his office job to return to winemaking life and to the vineyards. He and son João have revitalized an old vineyard at the foot of the beautiful Serra d’Aire, a 2000’ block of limestone towering over the flat riverbed of the Tejo. This deceptively easy drinker features Tempranillo (Aragonez or Tinta Roriz in Portugal); local specialty Castelão adds freshness, and a dash of Syrah and Touriga Nacional adds rich, dark fruit.
Serving Suggestion: Lamb shank stew w/ beans, garlic, & rosemary. BBQ pork ribs or seitan w/ sweet, KC-style sauce.
