Matthew Rorick has done everything from semi-pro skateboarding to serving in the Navy, including purchasing an 80-year-old vineyard in the remote Sierra Nevada foothills. Planted with an eclectic assortment of grapes that predate California’s conversion to a Cabernet and Chardonnay-centrism, his organic, high elevation vineyard is the source of this seductive red made in a natural, hands-off style.
