Jeremie Huchet, "Clos les Montys Vigne de 1914", Muscadet Sèvre et Maine – Sur Lie, Loire Valley, France, 2021
{organic} 100% Melon de Bourgogne
ZESTY LIME, RICH MINERAL CLARITY, PIERCING ACIDITY.
Significantly more opulent than we might expect from Muscadet, the grapes for this bold offering are harvested not only from a single plot but from a corner of the plot planted in 1914. These older vines endow the finished product with even more of the Atlantic-tinged minerality for which they are famous and although the overall impression may be rounder, this wine is still equipped with a bright, enlivening acidity.
Serving Suggestions: Oysters! Broiled triggerfish w/ lemony asparagus. Fish & chips (or just the chips). Cheesy cauliflower soup. Crab-stuffed avocado w/ chives.
