The Tuscan region of Morellino di Scansano has been making wine for more than a century. It became a DOC in 1978 and a DOCG in 2006, yet most Americans have never heard of this wonderful red wine. Full-flavored and busting out at the Tuscan seams, this Morellino is more modern in style. No oak to be found, this juicy red is all tank fermented and bottle aged, ripe, lush and ready to drink.
