The grace and elegance of the Nebbiolo grape in the King of Italian wine. Barolo is a classic from northern Italy in Piemonte. With just about 1,000 cases produced, it’s fair to say this Barolo is small production wine. Handpicked in Serralunga, the heart of the commune in Alba, the fruit is ripe and perfectly nurtured. The wine slowly ferments over 22 days to build complexity and layers, then ages for 2 years in partial Slovenian oak and 30% French oak. Balanced tannins, saddle leather and a wisp of mint or fennel on the finish.
Serving Suggestions: Braised beef with truffle oil, roasted pork shoulder; venison stew.
