Bodegas Perica, "Viña Olagosa" Reserva, Rioja, Spain 2012
88% Tempranillo, 8% Garnacha, 4% Mazuelo
VANILLA, SPICES, DUSTY STRAWBERRY, DRIED CITRUS, LEATHER
From Bodegas Perica’s single vineyard "Olagosa", comes this classic Rioja Reserva, relentlessly traditional. Made in the same style, from the same vineyard for more than 50 years, this wine is a step into the past. Spicy, toasty flavors abound, this wine spent two years in oak barrels before aging in their cellar another four. The dried berry and earth flavors have great complexity especially when that whiff of leather comes through. Vive España!
Serving Suggestions: Although it is much spicier than a Pinot Noir, we recommend trying this with similar matches; Salmon, pork, veal, roast poultry with earthy veggies.
