PINEAPPLE & GOLDEN APPLE, MELON, DRY & ZIPPY Raats Family Vineyards devotes its sunny slopes to the old-school varietals of Saumur. Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc are wondefully at home in this corner of the Southern Hemisphere, although they develop a bit more ripe fruit than their French counterparts. This is subtly tropical Chenin Blanc with tons of round melon flavors and crisp acidity. Surprisingly dry and shyly pretty. Serving Suggestion: We think we may have found another sushi wine! Spicy yellowtail handrolls and surf clam sashimi.
