The Rueda Pérez family’s latest offering doesn’t star their region’s native Verdejo, instead featuring the grape’s would-be usurper, Sauvignon Blanc. Cultivated here since the 1970s and making itself spectacularly at home on the cooler, high elevation plateaux, the frankly Verdejo-like yet internationally-famous interloper is an undeniably sensible (and delicious!) addition to the estate’s lineup. Tasting it for the first time is like seeing an old friend!
Serving Suggestion: Catfish po’boys w/ potato wedges & coleslaw. Crispy corn fritters w/ creamy avocado cilantro dipping sauce.
