From Manuel Mendez’s single vineyard in the Condado do Tea district of Rias Baixas comes this bright, zesty Albariño that exhibits the grape’s characteristic, wonderful combination of aromatic, tropical perfume, ripe fruit, and racy acidity. Albariño takes its name from the idea that it came from Germany (hence Alba-Riño, “white of the Rhein”), but we now know the grape to be native to this stretch of northwestern Iberia.
Serving Suggestions: Shrimp tempura & pineapple sushi rolls topped w/ lightly seared yellowfin tuna. Goat cheese w/ toasted rye or sourdough bread & dill. Seafood paella or pizza.
