Castello di Verduno, Verduno "Basadone" (Pelaverga Piccolo), Piemonte, Italy 2018 100% Pelaverga Piccolo
PALE WITH BLACK CHERRY, ROSE, SPICE & GRAVEL The Pelaverga grape is known traditionally in the Piemontese village of Verduno as an aphrodisiac. While that certainly titillates us (and hopefully you), the reason we like it is the flavor and character of the wine. Spicy and delicate with a lingering taste, much like a woman’s kiss. It also has a little bit of a bite (a nibble?) so pair it with cuisine that is a little creamy. This Burlotto family estate has been making wine since 1500! Serving Suggestions: Ravioli with a cream sauce. Risotto with pancetta. Cod fritters with spinach sauce. Broccoli topped with pecorino cheese.
