With feet firmly planted in the hazy heat of North Carolinian July, we set our sights on the balmy breezes and heady perfumes of Mediterranean France. In fact, that constellation of herbaceous aromas has a name: garrigue.
Inspired in part by this year’s Tour de France (finding its beginnings in the vaguely hexagonal nation’s Catalonian borderlands), our latest pack is a journey through Roussillon, the Languedoc, the Southern Rhone, and Provence. Grenache looms large, while other regional stars such as Cinsault, Carignan, Clairette, Vermentino, and Syrah make their distinctive voices heard specacularly. The spice must flow!
